The collection boasts the presence of several pieces of furniture from the1600s of primary importance, including some
Bernini designs: from the incredible
wall tables or consoles
with vegetation motif designed by Bernini, to the
sideboards for the pharmacy
designed by Carlo Fontana, to numerous benches, frames and furniture, all in great part made by the great craftsman
Antonio Chicari. There are several consoles dating to the 1700's, amongst which a group made in 1740 using the plans
for marbles from the villa of Emperor Vitellio. Moreover there is a 17th century cabinet which belonged to St. Philip
Neri and received as a gift by Alexander VII.
